Shiatsu in Japanese means finger pressure tho we do use elbows, knees, and feet giving many different forms of pressure satisfying the body releasing stress.

Stretching
Many stretches are applied while treating to encourage the flow of qi, not forcing but allowing the body to release tension therefore helping to relax totally.

Cupping

Cupping is an oriental therapy which also includes scraping with a spoon if needing called Gua Sha. This helps to shift stagnation which often accumulates in the upper shoulder area and in the neck. Cupping helps to pull out pathogens from the wind points and meridians enabling the body to heal quicker. Helping you recover from colds quicker before they take a hold.

Barefoot Massage

Barefoot massage is a stronger more sedative type of treatment helping the body to totally relax and let go of all the tension in the body.
Barefoot is the use of feet, elbows and knees.

Shiatsu enables the body to heal its self, feeling better is possible.
After shiatsu you should feel different otherwise the practitioner isn't connecting with your Qi.
